It also lists private boats (Double B at $425 an hour for up to 38 passengers; Sea Queen at $575 an hour for up to 56), with higher rates between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. The Town of Cranberry Isles lists $9.00 per passenger one way on the winter commuter ferry, tickets on the boat. Cranberry Cove's summer prices from its Downeast Windjammer page are $42 adult round trip, $32 child (under 11) round trip, $32 adult one way, $28 child (0-11) one way and $12 per bicycle (no electric bikes). Which boat sells tickets with a card is not stated in these sources. All fares in US dollars (USD).
The Cranberry Isles are reached by more than one boat, and which one runs depends on the month. Today (Oct. 15, 2026) the boats leave from Northeast Harbor, on Mount Desert Island, for Great Cranberry and Islesford (on Little Cranberry Island). The one on this page's timetable is Beal & Bunker, whose posted winter schedule begins the second Monday of October (Oct. 12, 2026) and ends the second Monday of May (May 10, 2027, by calendar). Its winter graphic lists three trips a day on the unlabeled table and two on Sundays, and the company says the times are departures, not arrivals.
A second winter boat is the weekday commuter ferry, run by Downeast Windjammer for the Town of Cranberry Isles. The town lists it from October 15 through April 30 at $9.00 one way, with a 5:45 a.m. departure from Northeast Harbor and a 5:00 p.m. one. Downeast Windjammer's own February 2026 blog says residents asked for those early and late runs, that most of them run in the dark, and that winter gales can cancel them, with notices posted on the Cranberry Cove Commuter Ferry Facebook page.
The boat from Southwest Harbor is the Cranberry Cove Ferry, also Downeast Windjammer's. Its table is headed seven days a week from Memorial Weekend to October 1, so on Oct. 15 it was past its printed end date; the page lists boarding at 126 Clark Point Rd. in Southwest Harbor and at Manset, and says tickets are first come, first served with no reservation. Its summer fares are $42 round trip for an adult and $32 one way.
Beal & Bunker's fares are $17.00 one way for ages 12 and over, $8.50 for ages 3 to 11, and free under 3, with round trips at double the one-way price. Its 10-trip pass is $90.00 during the winter schedule and $130.00 otherwise. Beal & Bunker's pages do not say whether bicycles, pets or vehicles are carried. The company asks passengers to follow its Facebook page, @BealandBunker, for current information. The Town page lists Beal & Bunker's number as (207) 244-3575 and Cranberry Cove's as (207) 546-2927.
Arrive at the terminal several minutes before departure; vehicle lanes close earlier than the foot-passenger gate.
Check the operator's service alerts before you set out — weather, tides and vessel maintenance change sailings.
Confirm accepted payment methods: some crossings are card-only and some take cash only.
